The 14th global finals of the LivCom Awards, which is also known as the ¡°Green Oscar¡±, were held on November 4 in Chicago, USA. The finals this year will be the most competitive one among the award¡¯s 14-year history; 41 projects of 39 cities from 31 countries will ensure fierce competition during the 5-day event. And this year¡¯s best practices on living environment development of the world will be announced in Chicago on the night of November 8.

China has selected 2 cities including Dongcheng District, Beijing and Wuxi city, as well as 5 municipal projects and communities from Wujin, Changzhou city and Beihai city, Guangxi province, etc. to attend the global finals this year and face competitions from 31 countries of 5 continents. The Chinese delegation remained calm and clear during the presentations at the final and achieved outstanding results which shocked the world and won praises from the international judges: Chinese delegation's outstanding performances make the world feel the manner of China as a country with economic power and as a pioneer in environmental protection. Meanwhile participating cities and projects of China showed great contents through their presentations so that people are able to face the development of living environment and global climate change with confidence.
In this year¡¯s global finals, Dongcheng District, Beijing not only won the gold award of city category D, but also won the Criteria Award for Art, Culture and Heritage management. In the same time, ¡°Nanluoguxiang¡± selected by Dongcheng District also won the gold award, therefore, Dongcheng District has became the first city who won 3 gold awards in one final, and became the first LivCom Award-winning city in Northern China, which was a break through for the Northern China in the ¡°Green Oscar¡±. In the most competitive category E competition, Wuxi has beaten famous cities such as Miami Beach of USA, and became the number one worldwide in this category. This is the fourth Chinese city who won the number one worldwide in this category. In the mean time, in the recognition of Wuxi¡¯s outstanding achievements in the environmental protection, they were also awarded the only Gold Award for Environmental Best Practices.
Under the request of the International Organizing Committee, Chinese delegation sent the entries of municipal projects with a combination of real estate projects to the global finals for the first time. 4 Projects from Beijing, Wuxi, Changzhou and Beihai also gave good performances in the final and won 1 gold award and 3 silver awards. In addition to Beijing¡¯s Nanluoguxiang, Wuxi¡¯s Taihu New Town winning the gold and silver awards of project section, Beibu Gulf on The St 1 from Beihai also won the silver award, and Wujin¡¯s Low-carbon demonstration zone of Changzhou city became the first project who was awarded the silver award in Low-carbon municipal projects category, which filled China¡¯s blank of this category, and became China's first Low-carbon zone who received the top environmental award from the United Nations.
